We believe in God\u2019s Spirit, Who brings the mystery of God into our hearts<\/strong><\/p>

We live in a world where with just a few clicks you can have a pizza delivered, view a video of a piano playing cat, and find out how many corona cases there are in every country in the world.\u00a0 \u201cI just googled the question, how much data is on the internet?\u201d\u00a0 The short answer, a bunch.\u00a0 We have the power at our fingertips to know things that we didn\u2019t even know we wanted to know.\u00a0 Knowing God however is another matter. \u00a0<\/p>

It is one thing to know the right things about God.\u00a0 The Bible is full of stories about God written by people with different experiences and world views.\u00a0 We can know the stories and yet not know God.\u00a0 I have met people who can cite chapter and verse from the Bible, and yet don\u2019t seem to know God for themselves.\u00a0 I have also met people who don\u2019t know much of what has been written about God, and yet seem to know God.\u00a0 How is it that we come to know God in such a way that we can discern what God is doing in the world or in our lives.\u00a0 I believe this is a gift of the Holy Spirit.\u00a0 I am not sure why, but sometimes I hear something about God that just doesn\u2019t ring true to me.\u00a0 I can\u2019t always put my finger on how I know it, but it just doesn\u2019t seem to fit my experience of God.<\/p>

I don\u2019t think we can really know God, until we know how to love like God.\u00a0 If you have ever been in love to the extant that you loose yourself in it, you start to know what it must be like for God.\u00a0 To have your heart broken after loving and then risk loving again begins to touch the edges of Gods heart for all humankind.\u00a0 When you learn to see others the way God sees them you start to experience both God and people differently. \u00a0<\/p>

I sometimes wonder why bad things happen to good people.\u00a0 I haven\u2019t found a good answer.\u00a0 A bigger mystery is how God can stand it.\u00a0 How can God continue to love and trust a world that breaks God\u2019s heart over and over again.\u00a0 I also wonder what it must be like for God to see when people really, \u201cget it.\u201d\u00a0 By, \u201cget it,\u201d I mean that they start to love themselves and others.\u00a0 When I see this kind of generous love that treats others, especially those who need it the most, with kindness, my heart overflows with joy.\u00a0 It inspires me to move past my own hurts and love again.\u00a0 In some way it heals my brokenness.\u00a0 Maybe it is in this hurting and healing and risking and trusting that we come to know God.\u00a0 Maybe it is in knowing God that we begin to love like God.<\/p><\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
